Weapons of Mass Destruction
Countering development and use of the world's most destructive weapons.
Biological, chemical and nuclear weapons pose existential risks to humanity. UNIDIR’s Weapons of Mass Destruction Programme works to support disarmament, arms control and non-proliferation initiatives in these areas. We identify policy options for WMD verification regimes, enhance systems for dual-use governance, facilitate dialogue in support of strategic predictability, and work to address the full of range risks that could lead to use of nuclear weapons.
Strengthening implementation of the Biological Weapons Convention
UNIDIR’s Biological Weapons Convention National Implementation Measures Database enables stakeholders to learn from good practices and successful examples of national implementation from around the world.
