To mark 45 years since its inception, UNIDIR is hosting a special event to explore future challenges and opportunities in international security over the next four and a half decades.
The event will feature a panel of leading officials and internationally acclaimed experts for a bold discussion on the challenges ahead and the opportunities to enhance global stability over the next 45 years. From anticipatory governance strategies to the transformative potential of nuclear arms control and disarmament, and the regulation of emerging technologies, this session will spotlight pathways to a more secure and resilient future.

- Karim Haggag, Director of the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute
Moderated by Ambassador Thomas Gürber, Deputy State Secretary and Head of the UN Division at the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs

Participants
In-person participation is limited to invited State representatives and experts working on issues related to international peace and security. All are welcome to participate virtually in the panel discussion.
