National reporting under international instruments on conventional arms and ammunition control builds trust between States, reveals common implementation challenges, enables the sharing of good practices and helps marry up demand and supply of international cooperation.
In this context, a key to supporting States in fulfilling their commitments and obligations to international instruments on conventional arms is to assist them in strengthening their national capacities and processes for reporting.
UNIDIR, in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior of the Kingdom of Cambodia, is organizing a two-day national capacity-building training course on reporting under international instruments on conventional arms and ammunition control. The course aims to:
- Strengthen Cambodia’s understanding on reporting commitments and obligations under international instruments on conventional arms and ammunition control;
- Identify national priorities for international cooperation and assistance;
- Start the process for preparing the national report on the implementation of the UN Programme of Action on Small Arms/International Tracing Instrument (PoA/ITI);
- Start the process for preparing the initial overview on measures to implement the Global Framework on Through-Life Conventional Ammunition Management (GFA).
