This report presents the results of a project that UNIDIR implemented for the European Union to increase the awareness of relevant actors about a potential arms trade treaty, and to facilitate the exchange of views. For the project, UNIDIR organized six regional seminars in Africa, the Americas, Asia, the Middle East and Europe.
The project supported and stimulated national and regional discourse on a legally binding ATT establishing common international standards for the import, export and transfer of conventional arms. By engaging with national and regional challenges, priorities and concerns, the seminars brought to light many crucial issues surrounding the ATT process, resulting in innovative proposals and solutions.
