The event will present the findings from a series of seminars convened within the framework of UNIDIR’s project ‘Framing and Informing Key Issues and Processes Pertinent to the Management of Conventional Ammunition’. This event aims to facilitate dialogue and generate ideas in order to help States framing key issues pertinent to the safe, secure, and accountable management of conventional ammunition in which progress can be made at the national, regional, and multilateral levels. This discussion is relevant to General Assembly Resolution 72/55 on ‘Problems arising from the accumulation of conventional ammunition stockpiles in surplus’ and to States’ preparations for the Group of Governmental Experts in 2020.
