Model UN 2026: Regulating the use of certain conventional weapons in urban settings

The model UN 2026, in partnership with Geneva International Model United Nations (GIMUN), focuses on the topic of “Regulating the use of certain conventional weapons in urban settings.” The discussions will focus on topics connected to the Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons, including mines, explosive remnants of war and lethal autonomous weapons systems.

This year’s event follows on from previous collaborations between UNIDIR and GIMUN for the 2025 edition on Women, Peace and Security, and the 2024 edition on preventing non-state armed groups from acquiring weapons.
