This paper takes stock of the mechanisms that are currently available for attempting to manage compliance with the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC). The paper illustrates how the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) has managed a range of situations in which States Parties had fallen short of implementing the Convention as required.
