Vhaire Gudgeon
Vhaire Gudgeon is a Graduate Professional with UNIDIR’s Weapons of Mass Destruction Programme, contributing to the Nuclear Risk Reduction and Nuclear Disarmament Verification workstreams. Her research interests lie at the nexus of emerging technologies and nuclear weapons.
She holds a Master’s Degree in National Security Studies from King’s College London, where her dissertation focused on human-AI interaction in nuclear early warning and decision-support systems. Vhaire also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Politics and International Relations from the University of Bristol, where her research focused on the impact of emerging technology on nuclear deterrence theory.
Previously, she interned at the International Atomic Energy Agency as a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellow, supporting a project on AI for Nuclear Knowledge Management. She is also a member of the Open Nuclear Network’s Nuclear Risk Expert Roster, and was a 2025 Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization Research Fellow.
Vhaire has presented her research at the UK Project on Nuclear Issues Annual Conference 2024, and the Center for Strategic and International Studies Winter Conference 2025.
