Nesrine Mellat
Nesrine Mellat is a Graduate Professional for the Middle East Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) Free Zone Project. She is also a PhD candidate at the University of National and World Economy, Bulgaria.
Before joining UNIDIR, Nesrine had spent over eight years in academia, serving as an assistant to department heads and researching media, culture, and post-colonial heritage. Her PhD’s primary research focus is the legacy related to nuclear security at former nuclear weapons test sites. Her interests lie in WMD, emerging technologies, energy security, conflict resolution, and Women, Peace, and Security.
She is an International Atomic Energy Agency – Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship Programme awardee. She holds a Master’s degree in Nuclear Security from the University of National and World Economy, Bulgaria, and a Bachelor’s degree in English Civilisation from the University of Blida, Algeria.
