Mersini Markopoulou
Mersini is a Graduate Professional in the Security and Technology Programme. Her expertise includes the international peace and security implications of emerging technologies, remote sensing, international law, cyberlaw and cyber-physical systems security.
She holds a master’s degree in Security and Resilience: Science and Technology from Imperial College London, where her research focused on platform integration for enhanced resilience in crisis management utilizing earth observation and GNSS signals. She also earned an LLB (Honours) in Law from the University of Leeds, where she explored the legal implications of cyber espionage on privacy and data protection.
Mersini has represented the interests of the Physics Department at Imperial College London and served as a peer mentor for an international NGO that promotes mission-driven entrepreneurship to address global challenges. She has also contributed to educational initiatives, including events that inspire young girls to pursue STEM careers and serving as a European Union student ambassador, where she promoted engagement with key EU policies.
She is fluent in English and Greek and has intermediate proficiency in French.
