Ingvild Bode
Ingvild Bode is a Professor of International Politics at the University of Southern Denmark and a Fellow of the Security and Technology Programme at UNIDIR. She is also Director of the Center for War Studies at SDU.
Professor Bode’s research examines how applications of AI in the military domain change international norms, especially on the use-of-force. She leads large-scale research projects in this space, including the European Research Council funded AutoNorms project and the Independent Research Council Denmark-funded HuMach project.
Professor Bode serves as an expert member of the Global Commission on Responsible AI in the Military Domain. She was also Co-Chair of the IEEE SA Industry Connections Research Group on Issues of AI and Autonomy in Defense Systems (2023-2024).
Previously, Professor Bode was Senior Lecturer in International Relations at the University of Kent, Canterbury and a Japan Society for the Promotion of Science International Research Fellow with joint affiliation at United Nations University and the University of Tokyo.
