The United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR) is organising an on-line Practitioners Workshop on the integration of arms control into conflict prevention, designed to enhance the Organisation’s understanding on how arms control can be better integrated within conflict prevention. Gathering selected subject-matter experts from the broader arms control and conflict prevention communities, this workshop will represent a first meeting of actors working in the fields of conflict analysis and conventional arms control. By seeking to enhance the understanding among arms control, prevention and development communities on how arms control can be better integrated within conflict prevention, it aims to contribute to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the Sustaining Peace Agenda and the Secretary-General’s Agenda for Disarmament, which all propose actions for breaking silos and creating synergies between the development, peace and security and disarmament agendas.
