The UNIDIR Roundup and Outlook 2026 reviews the major developments in international security over the past year, detailing how the Institute has worked with partners all across the globe to make a real impact on policy, practice and everyday lives despite mounting geopolitical tensions.
Following on from the 80th anniversary not only of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki but also of the founding of the United Nations, it offers a reminder that collective action can and should continue to make a major, positive difference, just as it has for the past eight decades.
It also lays out UNIDIR's priorities for 2026 and invites partners to work with us to address security challenges both emerging and longstanding, open up vital spaces for dialogue, shape innovative policy solutions – and work towards a more secure world for all.
