Salma Bayoumy
Salma Bayoumy is a Graduate Professional with UNIDIR’s Middle East WMD-Free Zone Project. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University in Qatar, majoring in international politics. Her academic interests include international security, diplomacy, human rights, conflict resolution and peacebuilding, with a particular focus on the Middle East.
Prior to joining UNIDIR, Salma worked as a Conflict and Security Research Intern with the Middle East Council on Global Affairs, where she conducted research on conflicts and security developments and contributed to policy analysis and high-level events. She also served as a youth delegate at the Third Meeting of States Parties to the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (2025) at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, where she contributed to discussions on nuclear disarmament and youth engagement.
Salma speaks English, Arabic and Turkish fluently, is proficient in French and has basic knowledge of German.
