Fiifi Edu-Afful
Dr Fiifi Edu-Afful is a Senior Researcher at UNIDIR’s Conventional Arms and Ammunition Programme. He coordinates the research pillar on Preventing Armed Conflict and Armed Violence. His other areas of expertise and research interests include UN peace operations, violent extremism and terrorism, conflict prevention, gender and youth, AU/ECOWAS Peace and Security Architectures and Contemporary and Emerging Security Issues.
Prior to working at UNIDIR, Fiifi worked for the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre in Accra, Ghana as a Senior Research Fellow with the Faculty of Academic Affairs and Research. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Psychology from the University of Ghana, an MPhil in Development Studies from the University of Cape Coast, and a PhD in Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of Ibadan.
Fiifi has authored, co-authored, and contributed to numerous publications on peace and security, as well as gender. He speaks English, Fante and Twi.
