Tatsujiro Suzuki
UNIDIR Senior Fellow Tatsujiro Suzuki is a Professor based at the Research Center for Nuclear Weapons Abolition (RECNA), Nagasaki University, Japan.
From January 2010 to March 2014, he was a Vice Chairman of the Japan Atomic Energy Commission (JAEC), which reports to the Cabinet Office. He has been a member of the Advisory Board to the Parliamentary Special Committee on Nuclear Energy since June 2017. He is also a Council Member of Pugwash Conferences on Science and World Affairs (2007 to 2009 and 2014 to date), co-chair of the International Panel on Fissile Materials (IPFM), and a member of the International Advisory Board of the Asia Pacific Leadership Network for Nuclear Non-Proliferation and Disarmament (APLN).
Dr. Suzuki has a PhD in nuclear engineering from Tokyo University (1988). His current research focuses on nuclear non-proliferation and civilian nuclear energy, as well as reducing nuclear risks in Northeast Asia.
