Johanna Kleffmann
Johanna is a Political Affairs Officer in the Office of the Directorate, as well as conducts research with the Managing Exists from Armed Conflict Project.
Prior to joining UNIDIR, Johanna was an advisor with the Bonn International Centre for Conflict Studies where she worked with regional organizations in Sub-Saharan Africa on policies and practices in small arms and light weapons control. Previously, she held various roles in think tanks where she focussed on civilian stabilization, crisis prevention, conflict monitoring, and the intersection of natural resources and conflict in contexts such as Latin America, West Africa and the Western Balkans.
Johanna holds a master’s degree in political science from Freie Universität Berlin, studied Peacebuilding at Universidad de los Andes, Bogotá, and holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and human geography from the University of Heidelberg.
She speaks English, Spanish, Portuguese, French and German.
