Almuntaser Albalawi

Almuntaser Albalawi is a Researcher at UNIDIR’s Middle East WMD-Free Zone Project. Prior to joining the Institute, Almuntaser was a doctoral researcher in the International Security Department at the Peace Research Institute Frankfurt (PRIF), the largest peace research institute in Germany. Before PRIF, Almuntaser worked at the Royal Scientific Society in Jordan, where he led the Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Threat Office and served as a senior staff scientist at the Biosafety and Biosecurity Centre.

Almuntaser has a bachelor of science in nuclear engineering and a master’s degree in international relations and conflict resolution. He is currently a PhD candidate in political science with a focus on weapons of mass destruction studies.

He speaks Arabic and English.
