On Your Marks: Lessons Learned for the Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention Review Conference

The United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR) is pleased to invite you to a lunchtime symposium. This is the first in a series of events the Institute is hosting in preparation for the Ninth Review Conference of the Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention (BWC), scheduled to take place in late 2021. The event will contribute to enhancing understandings of BWC review conferences and identifying lessons to be learned from past experiences.

SPEAKERS:

  • H.E. Ambassador Paul van den IJssel – Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the OPCW and the ICC. President of the 2011 BWC Seventh Review Conference.

  •  Professor Marie Chevrier – Professor of Public Policy at the Department of Public Policy and Administration at Rutgers University-Camden and formerly Chair of the BioWeapons Prevention Project.

The panel will be moderated by UNIDIR researcher, James Revill and will include a question and answer session with the audience.
