The report launched examines what technological solutions are available to help monitor and verify ceasefires. This joint publication by UNIDIR’s Security and Technology Programme and Conventional Arms and Ammunition Programme also provides a series of guiding considerations to reflect upon before using technology to aid with ceasefire monitoring and verification. Beyond the presentation of the research, an expert panel will discuss the past and current use of technology in (remote) ceasefire monitoring and verification as well as consider the future opportunities and challenges that technology offers in a ceasefire context.
