Several States Parties to the 1972 Biological Weapons Convention (BWC) have expressed support for developing a more systematic means of assessing developments in science and technology of relevance to this Convention. To facilitate discussion in this area, this UNIDIR breakfast briefing will provide an overview of the findings of a UNIDIR study on Exploring Science and Technology Review Mechanisms under the Biological Weapons Convention.
The briefing will consist of short opening remarks followed by a brief presentation of the findings of the study. The event will then open out to questions from the audience.
You are invited to read the study ahead of the presentation. It has been uploaded on the UNIDIR website and is available here.
