The United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR) is pleased to invite you to a Geneva Peace Week event on conventional arms control and conflict prevention.
UNIDIR is organizing a workshop during Geneva Peace Week to present the preliminary findings of the research on conventional arms control and conflict prevention. This workshop will bring together Geneva-based actors working in the fields of conflict prevention, development, humanitarian assistance and conventional arms control to discuss how to better integrate conventional arms control into conflict prevention in pre-emptive, peacekeeping and peacebuilding settings.
In particular the workshop will examine: how conventional arms can be better understood and taken into account in the participant’s work and how arms control, conflict prevention and management activities can be better coordinated.
This event is co-organised by Switzerland, the United Kingdom and UNIDIR.
