Jonathan Vince is a Research Fellow with UNIDIR’s Space Security Programme. He is a Researcher at Utrecht University’s Orbital Politics platform, where he examines the relationship between the emerging politics of orbital space and terrestrial geopolitical dynamics. The platform explores how infrastructures operating above Earth’s surface mediate and reorganize terrestrial power through authority, security and political order.
Jonathan’s research includes a focus on how satellites are continuously reshaping military capabilities and how war is documented, particularly through open-source investigation. For his Master’s in Conflict Studies and Human Rights at Utrecht University, Jonathan specialized in the use of open-source investigation and satellite imagery to document environmental war crimes, particularly in protected nature reserves.
