Matilde Vecchioni is an Associate Researcher with the Conventional Arms and Ammunition Programme at UNIDIR. Matilde’s work focuses on the artisanal production of small arms and light weapons, as well as on conflict and armed violence prevention.

Prior to joining UNIDIR, Matilde worked for the Political Affairs and Partnerships Section at UN Office at Geneva (UNOG), as well as for the DDR Section at the UN Department of Peace Operations (UN DPO) in New York.

She holds a Master’s in International Relations and Political Science from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (Geneva) and received her bachelor’s degree from Università Luiss Guido Carli in Rome (Italy). She speaks English, French and Italian.
