Desiré Raagart

Desiré Raagart is a Graduate Professional at UNIDIR, assisting with research, reporting and outreach on issues related to the Youth, Peace and Security agenda. She is also supporting the Managing Exits in Armed Conflict Project. 

Desiré holds an MA in International Conflict Studies from the Department of War Studies at King’s College London, a Master in International Security from Sciences Po Paris, and a Bachelor’s degree in Peace and Conflict Studies from Uppsala University. 

Previously, she worked for a Swedish peace and disarmament NGO as an advocacy assistant, focusing on Sweden’s arms export, Sweden’s NATO accession and international peace and disarmament issues. She also has experience from assisting research on disinformation as an intern at Stockholm International Peace Research Institute and governmental work to prevent violent extremism as a research intern at the Swedish Center for Preventing Violent Extremism. 

Throughout her studies, Desiré has specialized in the gender dimensions of peace, conflict, and security, including conflict-related sexual violence, gender in violent extremism, masculinities, and peacebuilding. 

Desiré’s research interests include international security, disarmament, arms control, gender and violent extremism. She speaks Swedish, English and French.
