Magnifying Nanomaterials: State of the Art and Implications for Security

What are nanomaterials? How different are they from nanotechnologies? How relevant are they for international security and disarmament? UNIDIR’s Security and Technology Programme’s latest technology primer, “Magnifying Nanomaterials”, aims to answer these, and other questions in an accessible way. This launch event will explore definition, trends and security implications related to nanomaterials and their applications through a moderated discussion with the author of the research paper, Ms. Kobi Leins, This event opens a series of policy conversations dedicated to life sciences that UNIDIR will organize in the lead-up to the 2020 Innovations Dialogue, scheduled for 8 June 2020.

The panel will be moderated by Giacomo Persi Paoli, Programme Lead of the UNIDIR Security and Technology Programme.
