Providing on-demand advice, support, and capacity-building
Via its Advice, Support and Capacity-Building Facility, the Conventional Arms and Ammunition Programme delivers “on-demand” advice, support, and capacity-building for partners on a wide-range of conventional arms and ammunition control issues.
The programme provides knowledge and expertise to support multilateral processes and the implementation of international and regional instruments relating to conventional arms and ammunition control.
The ASC Facility supports the use by partners of UNIDIR tools for undertaking national assessments of weapons and ammunition management policy and practices, national efforts to counter the threat posed by IEDs, profiling illicit arms and ammunition, preventing terrorist acquisition of weapons, and measuring the reverberating effects of explosive weapons in populated areas.
