Ursign Hofmann is a Senior Researcher for UNIDIR’s Conventional Arms and Ammunition Programme. His areas of expertise and research interests include conflict prevention, peacebuilding, armed violence reduction, weapons and ammunition management, as well as conventional arms control and disarmament instruments.

Prior to joining UNIDIR, Ursign served as Programme Officer at the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, as Policy Advisor at the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining and as Research Assistant at the Joint Inspection Unit of the United Nations System. He holds a master’s degree in History and French and a bachelor’s degree in History and Political Science from the University of Lausanne, Switzerland. He has authored or co-authored various publications on conventional arms control and disarmament.
