Helena Hinkel

Helena is a Graduate Professional with the Cyber workstream at UNIDIR’s Security and Technology Programme. Her research interests focus on addressing global cybersecurity challenges, with particular regards to technology, governance and policy.

Helena holds a master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Oxford, UK, where her master’s thesis explored international cybersecurity capacity building initiatives and the role of national computer emergency response teams in small island states.

Prior to joining UNIDIR, Helena has worked as an intern on international technology consulting projects at a consultancy in Germany and examined the impact of digitalization on German legislation at a law firm.

She is fluent in English and German, and has elementary proficiency in French.
