Bénédicte Santoire
Bénédicte Santoire is a Graduate Professional in Gender and Disarmament at UNIDIR.
Bénédicte is a researcher and independent consultant who is currently completing her Ph.D in International Relations at the University of Ottawa. Her doctoral thesis focuses on the implementation of the Women, Peace and Security agenda in Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, and Armenia.
Bénédicte has taught and conducted research on feminist theories of International Relations, feminist security studies, feminist foreign policies, humanitarian disarmament, and global norms. Her work has been published in numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, including in the International Feminist Journal of Politics, Études Internationales, and Lexington Books.
She has completed various consultancies projects with Mines Action Canada, the Global Network of Women Peacebuilders, UN Women Europe & Central Asia Regional Office, and Right To Play, and she currently sits on the Steering Committee of the Women, Peace and Security Network – Canada.
Bénédicte’s areas of expertise include gender, peacebuilding, and international security, with a particular focus on Eastern Europe, the South Caucasus, and the Balkans. She is fluent in French and English and has intermediate proficiency in Spanish and Russian.
