Andrea Gronke is the Deputy Head at UNIDIR’s Security and Technology Programme. Andrea is an experienced international lawyer with particular expertise in international security law and the application of international law in cyberspace. Prior to joining UNIDIR, Andrea spent 12 years working in a variety of legal and policy roles within the Australian Government, including as an Assistant Director in the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and a Senior Legal Officer in the Attorney-General’s Department. Andrea also represented Australia as legal adviser on Australia’s delegation to the UN Open-Ended Working Group on Cyber.

Andrea holds a Master of Laws (with commendation) specializing in International Law from the Australian National University and a Bachelor of Laws (Hons)/Bachelor of International Relations from Bond University.
