Almuntaser Albalawi
Almuntaser Albalawi is a Senior Researcher at UNIDIR’s Middle East WMD-Free Zone Project and the Weapons of Mass Destruction Programme. Trained in nuclear engineering and political science, his work focuses on arms control, international security, and science and technology within the broader fields of diplomacy, international relations and international organisations.
Previously, he worked at the Peace Research Institute Frankfurt and held positions at the Royal Scientific Society, where he led the Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Threat Office and served as a senior staff scientist at the Biosafety and Biosecurity Centre.
He is a certified nuclear security professional by the World Institute for Nuclear Security and a certified Project Management Professional. He speaks Arabic and English.
