Selma is a Graduate Professional at UNIDIR’s Conventional Arms and Ammunition Programme. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Peace and Conflict Studies at Uppsala University, Sweden, with a focus on arms transfers and its effects on conflict. Her research interests are military expenditure, arms trade networks, and emerging technologies.

Selma has previously worked as an intern with the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) and is a fellow of the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellowship Programme. She has also published on the topic of China’s export controls on dual-use items and contributed to the Conventional Arms Chapter of the SIPRI Yearbook.

Selma speaks Bosnian, English, German and Slovenian.
