Leifan Wang
Fellow Weapons of Mass Destruction
Leifan Wang is a Fellow with UNIDIR’s Weapons of Mass Destruction Programme, and an associate professor of international law at Tianjin University School of Law and Center for Biosafety Research and Strategy. Her research focuses on public international law, global biosafety and biosecurity governance, especially the impacts of emerging biotechnology on health and security.
Leifan co-drafted the Tianjin Biosecurity Guidelines for Codes of Conduct for Scientists with experts from Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security and Inter-Academy Partnership. She obtained her Ph. D in law from Renmin University of China, and was an attorney admitted to the bar of New York and P. R. China.
