Anabel is a Graduate Professional for the Exploratory Research Cell of the Conventional Arms and Ammunition Programme. Her areas of expertise include proliferation financing, the intersection of youth and peacebuilding, conflict mediation, and gender equality, with a special focus on gender transformative approaches (GTA), gender-based violence (GBV), and sexual and reproductive bealth rights (SRHR). 

Anabel holds a Master’s degree in International Peace, Conflict and Development Studies from Universidad Jaume I in Spain and a Bachelor’s degree in European Studies from Otto-von-Guericke Universität in Germany. Prior to joining UNIDIR, she worked as a Projects Officer at the United Network of Young Peacebuilders, as a Research Assistant at the Friedrich-Ebert Foundation, and received a scholarship funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development to work in Ecuador on a project related to gender equality and economic empowerment in indigenous communities.

Anabel is fluent in English, Spanish, German and has a basic knowledge of Russian.
