Emilia Vassiliades
Emilia is a Graduate Professional in UNIDIR’s Office of the Directorate. Her areas of expertise and research interest include international security, disarmament, gender and disarmament, international human rights law, climate justice and forced displacement.
Emilia holds a Bachelor of Laws with a specialism in European and International Law from the University of Sheffield (UK), is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Human Rights and Diplomacy at the University of Stirling and has been awarded full funding to begin a PhD in Law at Stirling in 2025.
Before joining UNIDIR, Emilia worked as a Case Reporter for the Oxford University Press International Human Rights Law series, a Research Assistant for the UPR Academic Network, a Legal Assistant for the NGO European Lawyers in Lesvos, conducted research for reports of the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Human Rights and Climate Change and coordinated the research team for the NGO Europe Must Act.
Emilia is fluent in English and speaks conversational Greek.
