Jaroslav Krasny is a researcher in the WMD Programme at UNIDIR, focusing on the national implementation of the Biological Weapons Convention. His expertise includes international law, particularly international humanitarian law and its application to weapons of mass destruction.

He was previously a Research Associate at the Center for Peace, Hiroshima University (CPHU), and worked for the Czech Ministry of the Interior, focusing on non-proliferation issues. His areas of expertise include: International Law, International Humanitarian Law, Arms Control, and Disarmament.

He holds a Ph.D. from Hiroshima University and a second Masters from the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights. He speaks Japanese, English, Czech and Russian.
