Anamika Madhuraj is an Associate Research Coordinator with the Managing Exits from Armed Conflict initiative at UNIDIR.

Her research interests and publications focus on issues related to state building and economic growth in Sub-Saharan Africa, logics of insurgent mobilization and dynamics of armed group violence, participatory microeconomic policymaking, climate security, and the governance of science and technology.

She holds a master’s degree in Public Policy from Harvard University and a bachelor’s degree in Politics and Geography from King’s College London.

Before joining UNIDIR, she designed education policies for public schools in Colombia during the FARC disarmament, worked on multilateral peacekeeping affairs with the Foreign Ministry of India, and handled participatory capacity development projects for UN-Habitat in Nairobi. More recently, she supported the monitoring and reporting of human rights violations and security trends in the MENA region for the Executive Office of the SG.
