Technical Aspects of a Fissile Material (Cut-off) Treaty

An international treaty banning production of fissile materials for nuclear weapons is widely seen as an important element of the effort to constrain the arms race, prevent proliferation of nuclear weapons and related technologies, and strengthen nuclear security. In order to build upon the work of the 2014-2015 GGE report, UNIDIR will hold a series of meetings in Geneva devoted to the specific aspects of a FM(C)T.
