The recent use of chemical weapons and the advance and diffusion of biotechnology underline the importance of strengthening the norm against chemical and biological weapons.

UNIDIR’s research in this area is dedicated to strengthening the chemical and biological weapons regimes through stakeholder engagement and exploring technologies and tools to reinforce these regimes.
