Gender and Nuclear Weapons

11/08/2016

This research project examines the relationship between nuclear weapons and gender—how and why the two are connected, both to each other, and to shared global agendas such as sustainable development. It looks nuclear weapons issues through a gender lens to obtain insights into their impacts, discourse and the actors involved (or not involved). As part of this work, new research will be undertaken into gender imbalance in multilateral nuclear disarmament-related forums. The resulting study, produced in collaboration with the International Law and Policy Institute of Norway, will be published in October 2016.
