WMD-related regimes remain under considerable pressure, with implementation gaps, compliance challenges and geostrategic tension undermining measures designed to ban or control weapons of mass destruction.

UNIDIR’s work in this area is designed to facilitate the implementation of WMD treaty agreements, consolidate the non-use of nuclear weapons, recraft strategic arms control, and revitalise the pursuit of nuclear disarmament.
