UNODA Workshop on Lessons Learned from Nuclear Weapon Free Zones

This informal workshop, organised by the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs, was held virtually from 7-9 July 2020. The workshop was organised in consultation with the President and participating States of the first session of the Conference on the Establishment of a Middle East Zone Free of Nuclear Weapons and Other Weapons of Mass Destruction. The initiative was an effort to support the implementation of the outcome of the first session of the Conference, which agreed to invite representatives of existing nuclear-weapon-free zones, as well as relevant experts, to share good practices and lessons learned in the establishment of such zones.
