Denuclearization and the Korean Peninsula

UNIDIR and the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Korea in Geneva are pleased to invite staff of Geneva diplomatic missions to attend a lunch-time discussion, "Denuclearization and the Korean Peninsula", devoted to the recent developments on the Korean Peninsula and the prospects for progress toward denuclearization.

Speakers:

This discussion will feature opening remarks by Ambassador Lee Jang-keun, Deputy Permanent Representative, Republic of Korea Mission to the UN in Geneva and Head of Delegation to the CD, and it will be moderated by Renata Dwan, Director of UNIDIR.

The discussion will include presentations by 

  • Lim Sang-beom, Director-General for Nonproliferation and Nuclear Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Republic of Korea

  • Alain Guidetti, Senior Diplomatic Advisor, Geneva Centre for Security Policy

  • Melissa Hanham, Deputy Director of Open Nuclear Network at One Earth Future

  • Pavel Podvig, Senior Researcher, UN Institute for Disarmament Research
