Informal Private Sector Consultative Meeting on Stemming the Flow of Improvised Explosive Devices and Related Materials

6-7 March 2017, Geneva, Switzerland

The primary objective of this meeting is to provide private sector stakeholders with an opportunity—in a concerted, closed-door discussion—to review their relevant current initiatives, and explore appropriate and feasible future activities in an effort to limit the proliferation of IEDs and related materials. This project will seek to build on areas of common understanding and clarify areas where there is a lack of consensus in order to identify opportunities and concrete ways forward for private sector’s engagement in countering the proliferation of IEDs. The overarching themes, ideas and outcomes from this meeting are expected to contribute to the current international momentum towards enhanced control over the proliferation of IEDs and related materials.

This conference is part of the project Examining the Roles, Responsibilities and Potential Contributions of Private Sector Industry Actors in Stemming the Flow of Improvised Explosive Devices and Related Materials
